Church and Union Charlotte is looking for a Chef de Cuisine to join our dynamic team.
Location: Charlotte, NC
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 based on experience participation in our Tip the Kitchen initiative.
The Tip the Kitchen initiative is a partnership between the guests and the restaurant, giving the guests the choice to tip the back-of-house employees for a job well done. 5th Street Group ownership partners with our guests and matches the kitchen tips up to $250 each day. The tips are in addition to your normal hourly wages.

The Chef de Cuisine oversees the daily kitchen operations, ensuring everything served to our guests is of the highest standards. The CDC is knowledgeable in all aspects of kitchen management and is the main support of the Executive Chef. The CDC inspires and works to improve the team daily and brings creativity to the kitchen.
Responsibilities include:
· Ensures all food meets the highest quality standards
· Assists in menu planning and creative plating
· Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as needed
· Hiring and training
· Placing orders as needed within given budget
· Upholding proper cleanliness and sanitation practices
· Keeping track of cooking trends
· Inventory management
· Seeks constructive feedback from staff and guests to constantly improve experience
· Maintains working order of all kitchen equipment
· Ability to delegate and follow up on multiple tasks
Requirements:
· Culinary school trained
· Five years of proven CDC experience or higher
· In-depth knowledge of food principles and practices
· Passion for creating food
· Excellent communication and leadership skills
· Ability to thrive in high volume environment
· Able to spot and solve problems
· Open availability including holidays
· Reliable transportation
